inici group was hired by Clackamas Community College during the pre-design phase of this project to provide owner representation for construction. The 44,000-SF facility features increased teaching, training, and partner space, large bays for machinery, high-bay space to accommodate specialized equipment for industrial technology, flexibility to meet changing training needs for regional partnership programs, industry partner space, advanced computer labs, informal learning and study spaces, and general classrooms. The Renewable Energy Technology Lab opens to an exterior covered workspace. The flex lab contains a range of robotics and trainers, and the high bay shop spaces are connected to classrooms in an informal learning area.
The project also includes the redesign of the adjacent parking lot, a new entry plaza, improved pedestrian access, and a better connection to the pedestrian path leading to the adjacent high school. The $28 million project was funded through a voter-approved bond as well as $8 million in matching funds from the State of Oregon.
