Oregon Convention Center Exhibit Hall and Parking Expansion

Portland, Oregon
Metro Government

inici group was hired to oversee the planning, development, construction, and coordination of all aspects of the Oregon Convention Center Expansion project, managing every step of this complex project and providing the services desired to deliver the project ahead of schedule and under budget. Among many things, inici group’s responsibilities included detailed payment application review, change order vetting, overall project management of the entire project, fiscal responsibility for taxpayer funding, and move and transition of the facility.

This project included an early occupancy of the new parking facilities to provide revenue for OCC. In addition, all construction work was coordinated with ongoing operations to allow events to continue concurrently with construction. This project was completed under budget and two weeks ahead of schedule and was the first convention center to ever receive LEED Silver EB status.

The completed facility is nearly 1,000,000-SF in size including the 350,000-SF expansion and sits on an 18-acre urban campus.
